Violence towards women 5 men sentenced recently
SEVERAL men who were violent towards women have been given a range of sentences, from jail to fines recently. Here is what happened to them at magistrates' courts.
MAGISTRATES have jailed a man for 16 weeks after he was found guilty of assaulting a woman in Little Hulton on September 3 last year. Glen Prince, aged 31, of Owlwood Drive, Little Hulton, had denied committing the offence. He was ordered to pay his victim £100 in compensation and he was banned from contacting her.
A MAN who twice assaulted a woman has been ordered to participate in 16 days of rehabilitation activities. Troy Taylor, aged 21, of Martin Avenue, Bolton, admitted attacking the woman on August 11 and 16 last year. He initially pleaded not guilty and was fined £270.
MAGISTRATES have ordered a man to have treatment for drug addiction and mental health problems after he admitted assaulting a woman and using threatening behaviour towards another on February 23. Raymond Wilkinson, aged 44, of Old Vicarage, Daisy Hill, Westhoughton, was also fined £100, told he must participate in 20 days of rehabilitation activities and pay his victims a total of £200 in compensation.
A MAN has been sentenced to do 100 hours of unpaid work after he admitted assaulting a woman on March 31. Joshua Galbraith, aged 30, of Peace Street, Bolton, was also ordered to participate in 20 days of rehabilitation activities. Magistrates made a restraining order banning him from going to Barry Crescent, Worsley.
MAGISTRATES have ordered a man to undertake 200 hours of unpaid work after he admitted assaulting a woman on February 2 and destroying her mobile phone on December 7 last year. Lukasz Sliwa, aged 40, of High Avenue, Bolton, was told he must participate in 30 days of a building better relationships programme and 10 days of rehabilitation activities. A restraining order was made banning him from contacting his victim, to whom he must pay £140 in compensation.
