  • Richmond has fallen to 11th spot and has had just two wins in their last five games.

Their percentage of 98.0 will help as its trails only Essendon out of the teams in 7th to 11th but they have little margin for error from here.

The Tigers play North Melbourne, GWS Giants and Hawthorn to finish the season.

Who knows where those games will be, when they will beand under what circumstances they will be played but those are games a top-eight team should win.

It’s up to the tired Tigers to find the reserves needed for one last push for September.

This was a day for the unproven to shine and forgotten to ride again.

The Dockers brought back their inaugural away jumper from 1995 and they showed they might have something to say in 2021 with a four-point win over reigning premiers Richmond in Perth.

The Dockers have a one-game lead in eighth spot but the Tigers will fight on with their high percentage.

The Dockers are unproven but Andrew Brayshaw (39 possessions) thrived in the middle for the Dockers while young bull Caleb Serong stepped up in the biggest moment to snap the match-winning goal off one step.

“It gives us great confidence,” Brayshaw told Fox Footy.

“You mentioned we had some superstars out but that gave some opportunities for players to stand up and I couldn’t be happier for those boys.”

For Richmond, mid-season draftee Matthew Parker (two goals, goal one assist) did all he could to give his side a chance at victory in the final term and prove he can play at this level.

This will be an important day in his career but for a young Dockers side, this win will mean plenty.

Maybe they should keep the green and purple anchor jumper as well.

Caleb Serong has stepped up when the Dockers desperately needed him to taking a handball from Travis Colyer and Liam Henry who won the ball and feed it to Serong who snapped off one step and put it right through the middle.

Dockers lead 55-51 with eight mins to go.

You have to love the commitment of Dockers little man Lachie Schultz who has flown into a pack and taken a spectacular mark.

After gathering himself, Schultz went back and kicked the goal.

If Freo wins they will be two games ahead of Richmond in eighth spot, if they lose the Tigers could be in the top-eight tonight.

Tigers lead 51-48 with 10 minutes to play.

The Tigers won the ball from the centre-boune with pushed the ball forward with Jack Riewoldt working his way to the front of the pack and taking a mark.

Riewoldt hasn’t kicked well today but he went back and converted when it mattered most.

Tigers lead 51-42 with 13 mins to go.

Kane Lambert has kicked a goal on the run to put the Tigers in front.

Matthew Parker was again in the mix winning the footy and handballing to Lambert who handled business with his usual poise.

The Tigers lead 45-42 with 14 mins to go.

Matthew Parker is making the most of his chance to shine kicking a goal over his shoulder to bring the Tigers within four points yet again.

The Tigers have plenty of players exhausted from years of long finals campaign but Parker is someone still proving himself in the AFL and he is desperate to keep his team in this contest.

100-gamer Matt Taberner and marked and then kicked a goal after the siren to extend his side’s lead back to 10 points heading into the last term.

After a goal-less second term, both sides were more attacking in the third term and it eventually paid off although neither team could take control of the game.

Matthew Parker brought Richmond to within four points just before the siren but they got the ball to Taberner in time to score and he kicked his third goal.

Mid-season recruit Matthew Parker has been active for Richmond today but hasn’t been able to finish his work.

But the former Saint marked and kicked a goal. The Tigers are now within four points of the Dockers.

Dockers lead 36-32 with a minute left in Q3.
