Sky Brown 13 says she wants to compete in BOTH surfing and skateboarding at Paris 2024
Skateboarding sensation Sky Brown has revealed sheâs a fan of bangers and mash as she looks ahead and says she is considering competing in both surfing and skateboarding for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The 13-year-old secured her place in the history books after becoming the youngest ever medallist for Team GB when she bagged bronze in the skateboarding final.
But the talented youngster already has her sights set on the next challenge as she revealed she is hoping to add surfing to her Olympic repertoire at the Paris games.
Speaking to Sky News in Tokyo this morning, Sky said: âIt definitely is possible but I do know itâs going to be hard â" itâs going to be very hard.
âBut honestly I love surfing, I love skating and surfing and skating with my friends will be fun.

âGoing to Paris would be awesome. Itâs like one of my favourite countries and Fiji, I mean it would be awesome.â
Surfing events are held in French Polynesia so there would be logistical challenges to overcome if she is to compete in both but the young Olympian seemed motivated to make it happen.
Sky was born in Japan but lives in San Diego with her British father Stuart, a skateboarder and marketing executive originally from Cornwall, and Japanese mother Miko, a housewife.
She is understood to have never lived in the UK but has visited the country to compete since she was nine, beating a Team GB selector at a trial in Bath aged just nine.

Sky Brown is already understood to be a millionaire and is Nikeâs youngest ambassador but after her successful performance at Tokyo 2020 she is going to be an even bigger star

She told Sky News she was a fan of London, adding: âWe do love London â" we go there quite a bit and itâs beautiful. I love London. I love the accents and the food, bangers and mash, I love it all.â
The teenager could have represented Britain or Japan but chose the country of her fatherâs birth in 2018 when she was ten, and said: âThe British Skateboarding Association, they told me âNo pressure, just have fun and get out thereâ. So thatâs why I chose Englandâ.
She added: âMy parents thought it would be too much pressure, so we werenât going to do it. But I begged and beggedâ.
After a breakfast of kimchi and fermented soya beans, she attends a school in Orange County two days a week with the rest of her education done online.

Sky fell twice in the final before her perfect last run (pictured) pushed her up into third place

This allows her to do up to six hours of surfing and skateboarding each day and travel to events around the globe.
She also spends some of the year in Japan, where she was born in 2008, but the family have had to build a skateboard ramp in the family garden.
Responding to her plans to compete in her two favourite sports at the next games, her father said: âItâll be up to her by then. Sheâll be 16, and itâs hard enough now. But sheâs straight back to school and do the things that families do. Weâll take her off social media for a little while.â
The skateboarding sensation is already worth an estimated £3.5million ($5m) and could be offered up to £2million in new endorsements in 2021 after she became Britainâs youngest Olympic medallist in history.
